Long after Alzheimer’s claims the mind, music still speaks to the heart

With stories and songs, come along on one man’s journey playing music for our elder community.   What remains when dementia sets in? A vacant stare isn’t always an empty one. The brain remembers music long after it has forgotten everything else.

"Often vivid and frequently moving…his stories give the show it's big heart and a few good laughs. Easy to wish that Steve Little was the guy entertaining your folks."
The Washington Post
Little brings forth many memorable characters, and should be commended for the fullness of his vignettes, his spot-on lyrics, and his changing movements and voice to fill our imagination about the characters to whom we are being introduced.

This solo show with stories and live original music is a moving look at how one man makes a connection where others have failed. The show is a series of short monologues interspersed with songs as Steve Little relives his career singing for our elder community.

Meet Miriam, grounded for disruptive behavior;  Bill, a true war hero; and Mary, a woman who comes out of her shell just in time! What ties the show together is the healing and social power of music.

STEVE LITTLE plays his own original compositions as well as music from the Great American Songbook, and has played for audiences up and down the East Coast for more than four decades. Some of his favorite audiences have been those in elder care, whose more active years may be over, but who still have a lot to give. Through more than 1,000 concerts over the past 21 years, Steve has found the universal healing power of music is the path to their hearts.
